As the days get longer and the weather starts to warm up, it’s time to start thinking about motorcycle season. But, let’s face it, who wants to leave their cozy home and hit the gym during these chilly months? Well, have no fear, my fellow bikers, because you don’t have to. In this post, I’ll share some fun indoor exercises that you can do right from the comfort of your own home.
First up, we have Chair Squats. This exercise is as simple as it is effective. All you need is a sturdy chair (or couch, or ottoman). Stand in front of the chair, then sit down and stand back up. Repeat this motion for 10-15 reps and you’ll feel the burn in your legs. Trust me, your thighs will thank you come motorcycle season.
Next, we have Push-Ups with a Twist. Mix up your regular push-up routine by adding a twist at the top. Start in a plank position, do a push-up, then twist your torso to one side, hold for a second, then return to the plank position and repeat on the other side. This exercise will work your core, arms, and legs, so you’ll be able to hold onto your handlebars better on those winding roads.
Plank Holds are another great exercise that may not seem like much but try holding a plank for a minute and you’ll see (or feel) just how challenging it can be. It works your core, arms, and legs, so you’ll be ready for any terrain that comes your way.
Leg Lifts are perfect for getting those washboard abs you’ve always dreamed of. Lie on your back and lift both legs up towards the ceiling, then slowly lower them back down. Repeat for 10-15 reps and feel the burn. Your abs will be ready for the long rides ahead.
Finally, we have Wall Sits. This exercise may look easy but try holding a wall sit for a minute and you’ll see just how challenging it can be. Find a wall and sit down as if you were sitting in an imaginary chair, holding the position for as long as you can. This exercise will work your legs, hips, and glutes, so you’ll be able to handle even the bumpiest roads.
So, there you have it, folks. Get up off the couch and start working on getting fit for motorcycle season. Remember, these exercises can be done right at home, so there’s no excuse not to start working on your biker bod today. And, most importantly, have fun with it! After all, isn’t that what motorcycle season is all about?
