New additions, free attractions, events, stunt shows, contests, races and live entertainment at the CrossRoads is growing for 2019.
Sturgis, SD (June 25, 2019)The ever-growing, free-access CrossRoads at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip has been undergoing upgrades, with plans for many new activities and events to take place during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in 2019. The most conspicuous addition is the new Big Engine Bar, which sports a 60-foot handcrafted bar where patrons will enjoy $2 beers and $3 wells, local craft beers on tap and daily live entertainment on stage. In addition, many new events and activities in 2019 are planned for CrossRoads rally guests including:
Saturday, Aug. 3, 2-6 PM – Beers and Braaaps Craft Beer Festival
Tasters may
purchase a tasting mug and savor the flavor of 12 locally crafted beers all on
tap.
Sunday, Aug. 4 – Send It Sunday!
- Big Joe’s FXR Show & Dyna Mixer – 9:30 AM registration, 11:00 AM Judging 2:00 PM Awards.
The social event for anyone who loves the classic FXR. Donations and raffle proceeds benefit Lifescape of South Dakota.
- 2nd Annual Rock n’ Roll Tattoo Contest – 10:00 AM Registration, 2:00 PM Judging
All artists, shops and individuals are encouraged to enter. Sponsored by Sailor Jerry.
- Gambler 500 Rallycross – 11:00 AM
All are welcome to bring out their favorite crap car and tear up some dirt.
- Bell Brawl at the Buffalo – 3:00 PM
A spectacular V-Twin stunt party and competition.
- Supersuckers Concert – 6:00 PM
Join “The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World” and some of the craziest motobrawlers on the planet for an all out blow out at the Big Engine Bar.
Sunday, Aug. 4 – Friday, Aug. 9, – Road Grub Throwdown
This inaugural event will feature celebrity BBQ chefs
judging a throwdown competition. The audience will be encouraged to taste food
prepared with a theme different each day. Competitors will vie for cash and
prizes.
Thursday, Aug. 8 – Monster Energy Freestyle Stunt Show
Backflips, Superman seat grabs, Nic-Nacs,
and Cliff Hangers are just a few of the famous FMX tricks patrons will see as
riders soar through the air 40 feet above their heads.
Thursday, Aug. 8 – Gambler 500 Hooptie Huck Contest
Junk cars will launch off a nicely made
pile of dirt to see who can reach legend status.
